Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Airport Commission will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009.  The meeting will be held at Ken Edwards Center for the purpose of conducting the following business:

                                               

Note:    For special meetings public comment is ONLY permitted for items on the agenda - No other business will be considered.

                                                                                         

1)   Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance/Roll Call

 

2)   Special Agenda Items / Announcements

      a)   Swearing in of Newly Appointed Airport Commissioner

The Airport Commission will conduct the administration of oath or affirmation of allegiance for public officers for newly appointed Airport Commissioner Stephan Mark.

 

      b)   Election of Officers

The Airport Commission will conduct an Election of Officers per Article X, Section 1004 of the Santa Monica Municipal Code.

 

3)   Consent Calendar (public discussion permitted)

a)   Approval of Minutes:  April 27, 2009 Meeting

b)   Non-Aviation Commercial Operations Permit Applications:

      i)    Vincent Kevin Kelly & Associates

      ii)   Paragon Property Management Group

      iii)  Skydance Productions

           

4)   Airport Management Report

a)   Runway/South Taxiway/Infield Area Rehabilitation Project

b)   Bundy Slope Landscape Rehabilitation & Improvement Project

c)   Santa Monica Airport Sustainability Plan

d)   Please Note:    The Regularly Scheduled June 22, 2009 Meeting has been Cancelled.

The Next Airport Commission Meeting will take Place on July 27, 2009 at City Hall

 

5)   Noise Management     (public discussion permitted) 

a)   Staff will present the monthly Noise Management Report for March & April 2009 for discussion and       information purposes.

 

 

 

6)   Old Business         (public discussion permitted)

a)   Santa Monica College Bundy Campus

      Staff will update the Airport Commission regarding the status of the Santa Monica College Bundy                      Campus for review and consideration.

 

b)   Aircraft Conformance Program Update

      Staff will update the Airport Commission regarding the status of the program for review and                                    consideration purposes.

 

c)   Presentation of the Results of the Museum of Flying Public Outreach Meeting Regarding      Proposed Facility         Improvements

The Managing Director of the Museum of Flying will present a re-cap of their May 16, 2009 public outreach meeting and review improvements planned for the 3100 Airport Avenue leasehold for discussion and input purposes.

     

7)   New Business        (public discussion permitted)

      a)   Presentation of Commercial Operator Permit Applications for Aviation Related Businesses

            Staff will present the following aviation related Applications for Commercial Operations Permits for                        recommendation to the City Manager: (None)

 

b)   Presentation of an Historic Overview of Santa Monica Airport

Staff will present an overview of the history of the Santa Monica Airport and relevant documents for information and discussion purposes.

 

8)   Commissioner Items

      General information items, announcements, and consideration of future agenda items from Airport Commissioners.

Commissioner Grossman:  Creation of a future agenda item that looks more in depth into the use of  portable noise monitors to capture noise events and compare that data to the data being generated by the 5 permanent monitors.
