Figure 1.1 illustrates Santa
Monica’s population distribution by neighborhood.
The largest share of residents, 40.5%, inhabit the
northern part of Santa Monica (north of Wilshire
Blvd.), followed by 30.3% in the southern part of
the City (south of Pico Blvd., Ocean Park and Sunset
Park), 23.2% are in the Mid-City/Pico Neighborhood
and 6.0% of the population reside in the
Downtown/Ocean Front area.
