Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Disabilities Commission will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at WISE Adult Day Care Center, 1510 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, for the purpose of conducting the following business:

1. Call to Order

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Roll Call

4. Approval of minutes of June 6, 2005 meeting

5. Report from WCIL’s SM Outreach Coordinator

6. Announcements and Correspondence

7. Public input: The Commission will hear from the public on topics of interest to the Commission that are not on this agenda. Each speaker is limited to two (2) minutes.

8. Old Business: Discussion of and possible (further) action on:

A. Report from Ad Hoc Subcommittee for developing and disseminating a Housing Rights Brochure

B. Advocacy on Gov. Schwarzenegger’s 05-06 budget proposal, including the Medi-Cal redesign

C. Report from Disabilities Awareness Month subcommittee

D. Review of and possible support for the proposed onsite inclusionary affordable housing ordinance

9. New Business: Discussion of and possible action on:

A. Election of Chair and Vice Chair for FY 05-06

B. Agenda planning for September retreat

C. Change in minutes format to reflect content of public input

D. Presentation by Cultural Affairs staff on Visioning Arts

E. Commissioner vacancy

F. Reports from Commission Liaisons

G. Future agenda items

The Disabilities Commission welcomes input from the public on all topics. Please fill out a request to speak (located in the back of the room), indicating the item number you would like to speak on, and give it to a staff person. You will be called to speak when the item is heard and discussed. Each person may speak once on each agenda item and is limited to 2 (two) minutes on each item.
