Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Disabilities Commission will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, October 10, 2005 at the Ken Edwards Center, 1527 4th Street, Santa Monica, for the purpose of conducting the following business:

 

1.            Call to Order

 

2.            Pledge of Allegiance

 

3.            Roll Call

 

4.            Administer Oath of Office to incoming commissioner Richard Hilton

 

5.            Approval of minutes of September 24, 2005 meeting

 

6.            Announcements and Correspondence

 

7.            Annual Public Hearing: The Commission will hear from the public on topics of interest to the Commission and the disability community in Santa Monica.  Each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes unless there are 15 or more requests to speak, in which case the Commission may take action to reduce the length of time allotted to each speaker to two (2) minutes.

 

8.            Old Business: Discussion of and possible (further) action on:

A.           Report from Disabilities Awareness Month subcommittee

B.           Discussion of last draft of housing rights and responsibilities brochure

C.          Report on 415 planning workshop

D.          Review of FY 05-06 work plan and budget

 

9.            New Business: Discussion of and possible action on:

A.           Future agenda items

 

10.       Adjournment

 

The Disabilities Commission welcomes input from the public on all topics. Each person may speak once on each agenda item and is limited to 2 (two) minutes on each item.
