Pursuant to Municipal Code Chapter 4.68,
the following events/activities, regardless of content
or purpose, are subject to the Community Event Permit
process:
• A parade, procession or assembly consisting of
persons, animals, vehicles, or any combination thereof,
which will assemble or travel in unison on any public
street, highway, alley, sidewalk or other public way and
which either: 1) may obstruct or interfere with
pedestrian or vehicular traffic or 2) does not comply
with normal or usual traffic regulations or controls.
• Any activity or event of 150 or more persons on City
property not subject to the requirements above or
involving 75 or more persons on the Santa Monica Third
Street Promenade..
• Any other activity or event on public property which
requires the placement of a tent, canopy, or other
temporary structure (e.g., stage, bleachers, etc.) if
that placement requires a permit from the City's Fire
Department or Building and Safety Division. |
