at 18th Street on Saturday night. Wrap it all up with a
grand tour of Santa Monica's historic treasures on
Sunday and you'll be in perfect form to head on back to

Street Arts Center complete with live
music, gallery openings and open studios of
working artists from around the world. Funded,
in part, by the Santa Monica Cultural
Affairs Division, these quarterly
events provide the public with the chance to see
what goes on behind the scenes in the studios
and have a great time enjoying terrific art.
The evening includes music by California
Choro Collective, consisting of
Southern California's best Brazilian Choro
musicians, and Bobby Matos Afro-Latin
Jazz Ensemble, one of LA's most popular
Latin jazz bands. New exhibitions include
Incognegro,
new and recent visual works by
Mark Steven Greenfield
exploring African-American depictions in
American pop culture, and
Guatemalan Forced Migration,
photos from Guatemalan refugee camps in Mexico
by Manuel Gil in collaboration with writer Oscar
Gil-Garcia. |
