As the summer wears on, it's easy to
let the days slip by and before you know it, vacation
season is long gone. So enjoy these lazy summer days
while they last. Even if you're not planning on going
anywhere exotic, we have some great events in our own
backyard that will make these last few weeks of summer
memorable. Come out to Jazz on the Lawn or see an
entertaining play at the Miles Playhouse while you have
the chance. And don't forget about the
Twilight Dance Series on the pier
Thursday nights. Tonight's feature are indie-pop
singers Carmen Consoli, Juana Molina, and Samantha
Crain, from Italy, Argentina, and Oklahoma
respectively. Click the picture below for more
information about the Twilight Dance Series.

This new comedy by A.F.
Cronin follows 4 aspiring artists, a handsome
actor, a beautiful actress, an intellectual
writer, and a savvy film director as they
prepare to pitch their film script to the "Man
with the money." They decide that their film
about a scientist giving up her career to find a
cure for cancer doesn't include enough action,
and that they must find an excuse to fit a
swordfight into the script to make it more
sellable. According to the
website, "Excuse for a Swordfight is a
delightfully funny and a bitingly satiric look
at the blind ambition and thoughtless formulas
that dominate our entertainment industry."
Starring Ashley Dyke, Chance Dean, David Abed,
and Jessica Richmond. Tickets are $15, for
reservations call (310)393-3018 or visit
