 7-A:  Appeal of Planning Commission approval of Development     
       Review 92-002, 1919 Santa Monica Boulevard, to allow      
       16,000 sq. ft. of General Office Space in an existing     
       46,832 sq. ft. office building to be converted to medical 
       office use.  Applicants:  9th and 34th Street Partners.   
       Appellants:  Ken Genser and Kelly Olsen and Irwin Zeke    
       Warsaw, continued from September 21, 1993.  (Public       
       Hearing continued.)                                       

 8-A:  Ordinance for introduction and first reading amending     
       Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 4.44.030 to prohibit  
       all smoking in bars which were established and in         
       operation after November 9, 1993; and amending Section    
       4.44.060 to exempt bars which were established and in     
       operation on or before November 9, 1993 from the          
       prohibition against smoking.

 8-B:  Ordinance for introduction and first reading requiring    
       annual solid waste permits for solid waste enterprises and
       adoption of a resolution establishing enterprise permits.

 8-C:  Ordinance for introduction and first reading repealing    
       Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 3.36.160 relating to  
       outdoor storage of refuse containers in mall courts;      
       amending Section 5.08.170, relating to points of          
       collection of refuse; and amending Section 9.04.10.02.150,
       relating to on-site refuse and recycling rooms or outdoor 
       enclosures in new developments.

       emission fuels policy for vehicle purchases.

       personnel matters and threatened litigation, pending

13-A:  Request of Santa Monica Pier Lessees' Association members,
       Murry Gould, Chris Volaski and Patricia Sheffield to      
       address Council regarding Pier parking, the economic      
       environment and the police substation for the area,       
       continued from November 23, 1993.                         

14-A:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss            
       consideration of Council procedures, continued from       
       November 23, 1993.                                        

14-B:  Request of Councilmember Olsen to discuss directing staff 
       to prepare a report on the feasibility of changing street 
       sweeping hours to after 9:00 A.M. in residential areas,   
       continued from November 23, 1993.                         

14-C:  Request of Councilmember Greenberg to discuss directing   
       staff to obtain information about the availability of     
       shelter beds in Los Angeles County, including cold weather
       shelters, and to report on what means are available to    
       refer and transport homeless individuals to these         
       shelters, continued from November 23, 1993.               

14-D:  Request of Mayor Abdo and Councilmember Greenberg to      
       discuss City Council adoption of a resolution urging the  
       State Legislature to grant local governments the authority
       to regulate the use and sale of firearms within their     
       jurisdictions and for the State Legislature to itself     
       enact laws which prohibit easy access to firearms and to  
       take steps to stem the epidemic of violence in our state.
