6-A:  UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA/PEP RALLY:  Member of     
the public Joy Fullmer expressed her concerns.  Discussion was    
held.  Councilmember Holbrook moved to adopt Resolution No.       
8703(CCS) entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE      
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF A PARADE ON       
DECEMBER 27, 1993 ON A ROUTE OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL CITY         
PARADE ROUTE", reading by title only and waiving further          
reading thereof.  Second by Councilmember Olsen.  Discussion      
was held.  Member of the public Ron Cano spoke in support of      
the proposal.  The motion was approved by the following vote:     

Council vote: Affirmative:   Councilmembers Greenberg,            
                              Holbrook, Olsen, Rosenstein,        
                              Mayor Abdo                          

              Absent:   Councilmembers Genser, Vazquez            

9-B:  CLOSED SESSION:  At 5:31 P.M., Council adjourned to         
Closed Session for the purpose of considering personnel           
matters and threatened litigation, pending litigation and         
litigation to be commenced by the City.  Councilmember Genser     
reported present at 5:45 P.M.  Mayor Pro Tempore Vazquez          
reported present at 5:50 P.M.  No action was taken.               

City Clerk Dykhouse was excused from the meeting.  City           
Manager John Jalili was appointed Deputy City Clerk.              

At 11:25 P.M., Council reconvened with all members present.       
No action was taken.
