6.  CONSENT CALENDAR:  (Public discussion permitted.  All items
will be considered and approved in one motion unless removed by
a councilmember for discussion.)

6-A:   Resolution declaring the continuing existence of a local
       emergency.

       ACTION: Adopted Resolution No. 8756 (CCS).

6-B:   Ordinance for second reading and adoption prohibiting game
       arcades and establishing limitations on the number of
       alcohol and food serving establishments in specified
       portions of the C3 and C3C Districts on an interim basis,
       introduced on May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Adopted Ordinance No. 1746 (CCS).

9.  STAFF ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS:  (Public discussion permitted.)

9-A:   Discussion regarding a public safety pilot program for
       Palisades Park and the downtown commercial area including
       Ocean Avenue, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Approved pilot public safety program for
               Palisades Park and the downtown commercial
               area and approved amended pilot proposal for
               kiosk on the Third Street Promenade.

9-B:   Request for Closed Session.

       ACTION: Directed the City Attorney to prepare an
               ordinance to conform relocation provisions
               pursuant to Court of Appeals Case Channings
               Properties v. City of Berkeley and set public
               employee evaluations to July 5, 1994.

10.  PUBLIC HEARINGS:  (Public discussion permitted.)

10-A:  Public hearing to establish an assessment district for the
       annual street resurfacing program and appurtenant work and
       a resolution ordering the construction of concrete
       gutters, street resurfacing, sidewalk, driveway and curb
       repairs and the removal of damaged parkway pavement and
       appurtenant work on various city streets, in conjunction
       with the FY 1993-94 street resurfacing program, continued
       from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Adopted Resolution No. 8757 (CCS).

11.  REPORTS OF COMMISSIONS:   (Public discussion permitted.)

11-A:  Recommendation from the Personnel Board to direct the City
       Attorney to prepare an ordinance to amend Santa Monica
       Municipal Code Section 2.04.860 regarding Outside
       Activities, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Approved.

11-B:  Recommendation from the Recreation and Parks Commission to
       approve a resolution governing the placement of memorials
       and tributes in City parks, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Adopted Resolution No. 8758 (CCS).

14.  COUNCILMEMBER DISCUSSION ITEMS:   (Public discussion
permitted.)

14-A:  Annual appointments of members to Boards and Commissions
       and appointment of a member to the Arts and Social
       Services Commissions, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.

14-B:  Request of Councilmember Holbrook to discuss directing
       staff to retain an independent expert to analyze flight
       operations at the Santa Monica Airport, continued from May
       24, 1994.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.

14-C:  Request of Councilmember Holbrook to discuss directing the
       City Attorney to seek compliance with the Coastal
       Commission Permit issued for the property located at the
       northwest corner of Arizona and 4th Street (Security Bank
       Building), continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.

14-D:  Request of Councilmember Genser to discuss consideration
       of a Closed Session to conduct the annual public employee
       performance evaluations for the City Manager, City
       Attorney and City Clerk, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Heard in Closed Session.  Set for July 5,
               1994.

14-E:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss directing
       staff to facilitate electric car battery recharging in
       City parking structures, continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.

14-F:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss directing
       staff to prepare an emergency ordinance to require
       property owners to move forward with measures leading to
       the clearing of public streets and thoroughfares of
       barriers, scaffolds, and other construction related items,
       continued from May 24, 1994.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.


14-G:  Request of Councilmember Greenberg to discuss directing
       staff to enforce the park closure law in all City parks,
       including Memorial Park.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.


14-H:  Request of Councilmember Greenberg to discuss inclusion in
       Closed Session one anticipated law suit.

       ACTION: Continued to June 14, 1994.
