       emergency.

       antennas located in the rear yard of the property located 
       at:  119 Ocean Park Boulevard; Applicant/Appellant:  Harry 
       Shearer, continued from May 10, 1994.


       ACTION: To be considered on August 9, 1994.

7-B:   Appeal of Planning Commission approval of Conditional Use
       Permit 93-024 and Development Review 93-008.  Address: 
       1206-18 Ocean Park Boulevard.  Applicant/Appellant: 
       Roberta Klein.


       ACTION: Withdrawn at the request of staff.

8.  ORDINANCES:  (Public discussion permitted only on emergency
ordinances and ordinances for introduction and first reading.)

8-A:   Ordinance for introduction and first reading amending
       zoning and development standards to facilitate a range of
       housing opportunities including affordable housing.
       Staff Report

       ACTION: Introduced ordinance for first reading as
               amended.

8-B:   Ordinance for introduction and first reading adding
       Chapter 4.55 to the Santa Monica Municipal Code regarding
       standards for utilization and maintenance of public parks.
       Staff Report

       ACTION: Introduced ordinance for first reading as
               amended.  Directed the City Attorney to
               prepare an ordinance regarding health
               regulations on food distribution.

14-A:  Annual appointments of members to Boards and Commissions
       and appointments to the Arts, Social Services and Housing
       Commissions and the Commission on Older Americans, 
       continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Mary H. Rose was reappointed to the Airport
       Commission for a term ending June 30, 1998.

       Megan Cassidy and Janet E. Spinks were reappointed to the
       Architectural Review Board  for terms ending June 30,
       1998.

       Three appointments to the Arts Commission were continued
       to June 21, 1994.

       Three appointments to the Bayside District Corporation
       were continued to June 21, 1994.

       Harry Block and Phyllis White were reappointed to the
       Commission on Older Americans  for terms ending June 30,
       1998.  Two appointments were continued to June 21, 1994.

       Kathleen Sheldon was reappointed to the Commission on the
       Status of Women  for a term ending June 30, 1998. 
       Griselda P rez was appointed  for a term ending June 30,
       1998.

       Two appointments to the Convention and Visitors Bureau
       were continued to June 21, 1994.

       Lou Moench and Karin Pally were reappointed to the Housing
       Commission for terms ending June 30, 1998.  One
       appointment was continued to June 21, 1994.

       Dan Freund was reappointed to the Landmarks Commission for
       a term ending June 30, 1998.  Naomi Meadows was
       reappointed for a term ending June 30, 1996.  Steve Frew
       and Stephen Harby were appointed  for terms ending June
       30, 1998.  

       Two appointments to the Library Board were continued to
       June 21, 1994.

       One appointment to the Personnel Board was continued to
       June 21, 1994.

       John Zinner was reappointed to the Planning Commission 
       for a term ending June 30, 1998.

       Two appointments to the Recreation and Parks Commission
       were continued to June 21, 1994.

       Vivian Linder and Alan S. Toy were reappointed to the
       Social Services Commission  for terms ending June 30,
       1998.  One appointment was continued to June 21, 1994.

14-B:  Acceptance of letter of resignation from Ruth Y. Goldway
       of the Pier Restoration Corporation and authorization for
       the City Clerk to publish a Notice of Vacancy.

       ACTION: Accepted with regret.

14-C:  Request of Councilmember Holbrook to discuss directing
       staff to retain an independent expert to analyze flight
       operations at the Santa Monica Airport, continued from May
       31, 1994.

       ACTION: Discussed.  No action taken.

14-D:  Request of Councilmember Holbrook to discuss directing the
       City Attorney to seek compliance with the Coastal
       Commission Permit issued for the property located at the
       northwest corner of Arizona and 4th Street (Security Bank
       Building), continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Approved.

14-E:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss directing
       staff to facilitate electric car battery recharging in
       City parking structures, continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Approved.


14-F:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss directing
       staff to prepare an emergency ordinance to require
       property owners to move forward with measures leading to
       the clearing of public streets and thoroughfares of
       barriers, scaffolds, and other construction related items,
       continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Referred to staff.

14-G:  Request of Councilmember Greenberg to discuss directing
       staff to enforce the park closure law in all City parks,
       including Memorial Park, continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Directed staff to accelerate shelter
               construction.

14-H:  Request of Councilmember Greenberg to discuss policies
       regarding compliance with the Public Records Act,
       continued from May 31, 1994.

       ACTION: Withdrawn.

14-I:  Request of Councilmember Holbrook to discuss problems
       occurring on Adelaide Avenue as a result of excessive use
       of the 4th Street staircase to the Santa Monica Canyon.

       ACTION: Referred to staff.

14-J:  Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss ending
       Council meetings at 11 p.m. by starting promptly at 6:30
       p.m., taking 10-minute breaks and engaging in more concise
       and less redundant discussions.

       ACTION: Discussed.

14-K:  Request of Councilmember Genser to discuss providing
       financial assistance from the City to the Santa Monica
       High School Symphony Orchestra to attend the VIII
       International Festival of Youth Orchestras to be held July
       18-22, 1994 in Valencia, Spain and Finland's Kuhmo Chamber
       Music Festival.

       ACTION: Appropriated funds.
