RA-1: Approval of Redevelopment Agency minutes of May 24,
1994.
ACTION: Approved.
CC/RA-2: Public hearing on the proposed Earthquake Recovery
Redevelopment Plan and adoption of resolutions of the
Redevelopment Agency and the City Council finding
that the project is exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act and finding that the use
of taxes allocated from the Earthquake Recovery
Redevelopment Project area to improve, increase and
preserve the community's supply of low- and moderate-
income housing outside the Project Area will be of
benefit to the Project; and a resolution of the
Redevelopment Agency and an emergency ordinance of
the City Council for introduction and adoption
approving the Redevelopment Plan..

amending Section 9.04.140 of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code related to supplemental seismic safety
rehabilitation requirements, adding Sections 8.04.171
through 8.04.173 related to supplemental requirements
for repair, reconstruction and reinforcement of
potentially hazardous structures, requiring bracing of
water heaters, and declaring the presence of an
emergency.

Services and Housing Commissions and the Commission on
Older Americans, continued from June 14, 1994.
ACTION: Sharla Boehm was reappointed to the Library
Board for a term ending June 30, 1998. Sue C.
Alexopoulos was appointed for a term ending June 30,
1998.
Three appointments to the Arts Commission were continued
to June 28, 1994.
Three appointments to the Bayside District Corporation
were continued to June 28, 1994.
Two appointments to the Commission on Older Americans
were continued to June 28, 1994.
Two appointments to the Convention And Visitors Bureau
were continued to June 28, 1994.
One appointment to the Housing Commission were continued
to June 28, 1994.
One appointment to the Personnel Board were continued to
June 28, 1994.
Two appointments to the Recreational & Parks Commission

14-B: Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to discuss adoption
of a resolution supporting the extension of the school
parcel tax.

14-C: Request of Councilmember Olsen to discuss directing the
City Attorney to draft an ordinance that would prohibit
a person from being charged more for goods or services
because of their gender.
ACTION: Directed City Attorney to prepare
Ordinance.
14-D: Request of Councilmember Olsen to have staff analyze
park operation hours.
ACTION: Referred to staff.
14-E: Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to have the City
Attorney provide an update on the status of the law
regarding panhandling issues.
