4-A:   Proclamation declaring the week of May 14, 1995 as
        Preservation Week  in the City of Santa Monica.

       ACTION: Presented by Mayor.

4-B:   Presentation by Fire Chief Richard Bridges regarding
       contributions of the Santa Monica Fire Department to the
       Oklahoma City bombing recovery effort.

       ACTION: Commendations presented to Laura Hernandez,
               Disaster Coordinator, and Jim Hone, Fire
               Division Chief.

6.  CONSENT CALENDAR:  (Public discussion permitted.  All items
will be considered and approved in one motion unless removed by
a councilmember for discussion.)

6-A:   Approval of City Council minutes of April 11 (continued
       from April 25, 1995) and 25, 1995.

       ACTION: Approved.

6-B:   Resolution declaring the continuing existence of a local
       emergency.

6-C:   Recommendation to reject Bid No. 2520 to purchase a
       hazardous materials response vehicle for lease/purchase
       for the Fire Department.

6-D:   Award of contract to Sterndahl Enterprises, Inc. in the
       amount of $ 73,622.00 for striping and signing
       modification on Broadway from Lincoln to 26th Street and
       7th, 11th and 17th Streets from Wilshire to Pico
       Boulevard.

6-E:   Resolution authorizing the execution and delivery of a
       guaranty agreement with AMBAC Indemnity Corporation to
       issue a surety bond to replace the reserve account for
       the Wastewater Enterprise Revenue Bonds (Hyperion
       Project) 1993 Refunding Series.

       Section IX of the Santa Monica Municipal Code to create
       the light manufacturing and studio district and amending
       the official districting map to establish districts in
       portions of former M1 and C5 districts, introduced on
       April 25, 1995.

8-B:   Ordinance for second reading and adoption amending Santa
       Monica Municipal Code Sections 2.68.010 and 2.68.030 -
       .080 relating to procedures and policies of the
       Community Development Block Grant Program, introduced on
       April 25, 1995.

8-C:   Ordinance for introduction and first reading adding
       Chapter 3.25 to the Santa Monica Municipal Code
       regarding registration of ammunition sales.

               amended.

8-D:   Ordinance for introduction and first reading amending
       various provisions of the Zoning Ordinance related to
       the C4, C6 and M1 districts, accessory building
       standards; landscaping standards and parking standards
       provisions; repealing certain provisions of the project
       design and development standards; and adding provisions
       regarding development spanning zoning districts,
       automobile washing facilities, and operating hours of
       certain auto-related uses.

10-A:  Public hearing on the draft five-year U. S. Department
       of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Consolidated Plan
       (FY 1995-96 to FY 1999-2000)  and recommendation to
       adopt the Plan and proposed funding allocations for FY
       1995-96 Home Investment Partnership Act (HOME) and
       Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

       ACTION: Public hearing held.  Approved as amended.

13.  WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS:  (Public discussion permitted.)

13-A:  Request of Thomas F. Scully to address Council regarding
       rebuilding the veteran s memorial.

       ACTION: Heard.  Directed staff to prepare a
               proposal to rebuild memorial.

14.  COUNCILMEMBER DISCUSSION ITEMS:   (Public discussion
permitted.)

14-A:  Acceptance of letter of resignation from Stephen Harby of the Landmarks
       Commission and authorization for the City Clerk to publish a Notice of
       Unscheduled Vacancy.

       ACTION: Accepted with regret.

14-B:  Request of Councilmember Ebner to discuss setting a
       public hearing regarding the Mid-City Traffic Plan.

       ACTION: Discussion held.  No action taken.

14-C:  Mayoral appointment of Council liaisons to the Santa
       Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education
       and the Santa Monica Community College District Board of
       Trustees.

       ACTION: Councilmember Holbrook and Mayor Rosenstein
               appointed as liaisons.

15.  PUBLIC INPUT:  (Public discussion permitted on items not
on the agenda that are within the subject matter jurisdiction
of the City.) 

       ACTION: Heard.  No action taken.
