       Commission's request to direct the City Attorney to
       prepare an ordinance amending Santa Monica Municipal
       Code Section 2.60.020 expanding the membership of the
       Social Services Commission from seven to nine members.

       ACTION: Directed the City Attorney to draft
               ordinance and directed staff to ask Social
               Services Commission to send a delegate to
               the Council Meeting to answer questions.

               proposal, including a review of similar
               existing ordinances and of truancy laws.
