7-A: Reconsideration of Planning Commission approval of addition of convenience store to existing gas station at 1410 Pico Boulevard (Texaco) - recommendation to reconsider Appeal 97-001 of Planning Commission Approval of Conditional Use Permit 96-012 to allow the addition of a convenience store to an existing self-service gas station located at 1410 Pico Boulevard, overturn the determination of the Planing Commission, uphold the appeal and approve CUP 96-023 as proposed by applicant. 14. COUNCILMEMBER DISCUSSION ITEMS: (Public discussion permitted.)

14-A: Appointment to one unscheduled vacancy to the Bayside District Corporation for a term ending June 30, 1999. (Continued from August 11, 1998.)

ACTION: Continued to September 8, 1998.

14-B: Request of Councilmember Feinstein to direct staff to examine the City's housing relocation policies, including the level of fees involved and associated noticing requirements.

ACTION: Approved.

14-C: Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to request that Council hold a hearing to determine if work should be suspended on the downtown outdoor transit mall due to the possibility of unsavory establishments coming to Santa Monica Boulevard.

ACTION: Withdrawn by Councilmember Rosenstein.

14-D: Request of Councilmember Rosenstein to request that Council direct the City Attorney to research whether any laws would be violated if a restaurant hires as servers people of only one gender and with certain physical attributes.

ACTION: Approved.
