SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish, Deliver and Install Miscellaneous Stage Lighting, Bid #2756
Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnish, deliver and install miscellaneous stage lighting for Miles Playhouse at Christine Emerson Reed Park, in the total amount of $45,892.97, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published April 26 and 27, 1999) in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on May 10, 1999. Proposal forms were mailed to eight vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals were received as follows:

The stage lighting will be used for theatrical stage performances at Miles Playhouse. This equipment replaces inadequate and antiquated stage lighting.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1998-99 appropriation authority for this purchase is in account number 01-740-511-20099-8900-99440.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2756 be made to Angstram Stage Lighting and Production Services in the total amount of $45,892.97, including applicable sales tax, as the lowest responsible bidder.
