The City Attorney=s Office currently uses the automated Criminal Prosecution Control System (ACPC@) which generates all documents needed for prosecution of defendants in misdemeanor criminal matters. CPC interfaces with the booking module of the Police Department records management system. The system was designed in the mid-1980's and is not Y2K compliant.

A selection committee comprised of several employees of the City Attorney=s Office, including the Chief Deputy of the Criminal Division, the Office Administrator, daily users of the CPC system, and the Manager of the Information Systems Division assembled system requirements, reviewed software vendor proposals and attended product demonstrations by three software vendors which sell software systems for use in prosecutorial offices. It was determined that the software system from Metamor Industry Solutions best met the criminal prosecution needs of the City Attorney=s Office.

The total cost of the Metamor Industry Solutions software program, including on-site installation, training and maintenance for one year, will not exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00). Funds are available in Account Number 01-710-223-20099-8900-99466. Future maintenance costs, which will begin at an annual base cost of $12,875 with annual increases not to exceed 10%, will be budgeted in the Department=s operating budget in Account Number 01-140-231-00000-3358-00000.
