SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Printing and Delivery of Bus Schedules and System Maps, Bid #2758
Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to provide printing and delivery of bus schedules and system maps for the Transportation Department at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 27 and 28, 1999) in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on June 8, 1999. Proposal forms were mailed to sixteen vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Eight proposals were received as follows:

These bus schedules and system maps will be distributed as public information regarding Santa Monica Bus time schedules and system routing.
City specifications required bidders to comply with bid specifications, which included, but were not limited to, paper stock, on-site storage, printing equipment, and use of recycled paper. Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1999-00 appropriation authority for this purchase is in the Transportation Department, account number 41659.544110.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2758 be made to Foundation Press at specified unit prices, including applicable sales tax, as the lowest responsible bidder.
