SUBJECT: Resolution Granting Another Designated Period for Two Years Additional Service Credit with the California Public Employees' Retirement System as part of the City’s Cost Reduction Strategy
INTRODUCTION
At its meeting on July 22, 2003, information was presented to the City Council regarding costs of offering two years additional service credit with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) for certain job classifications as part of the City’s strategy to reduce staffing levels and reduce General Fund costs. Attached is the July 22, 2003 staff report. The resolution is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
RECOMMENDATION
City Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution.
