MAY 28, 2003

 

A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Bloom at 6:16 p.m., on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street.

 

Roll Call:          Present:            Mayor Richard Bloom

Councilmember Michael Feinstein

Councilmember Ken Genser

Councilmember Robert T. Holbrook

Councilmember Pam O=Connor

 

Absent:             Councilmember Herb Katz

 

Also Present:    City Manager Susan McCarthy

City Attorney Marsha Jones Moutrie

City Clerk Maria M. Stewart

 

CONVENE/PLEDGE  

 

On order of the Mayor, the City Council convened at 6:16 p.m., with Councilmember Katz absent.  Member of the public Joe Paloucci led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

 

STUDY SESSION:   

2003 B 2004 Budget

 

 

Members of the public Joe Paolucci, Jennie Scheer, Jerry Rubin, Mark Wang, and Paul Dolid spoke in support of funding for the symphony.

 

Susan McCarthy, City Manager, and staff presented fiscal reviews for the following:               

 

Planning and Community Development

Library                                                                                   

Community and Cultural Services

Big Blue Bus

Environmental and Public Works Management

Resource Management

 

On order of the Mayor, the information was received and filed.

On order of the Mayor, the City Council meeting was adjourned at 10:45 p.m. to June 10, 2003, in memory of R. James Cayton.
