CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

 

MARCH 15, 2005

 

A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor O=Connor at 5:50 p.m., on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street.

CONVENE/PLEDGE

On order of the Mayor, the City Council convened at 5:50 p.m., with all members present.  Assistant City Manager Gordon Anderson led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

CLOSED SESSIONS

On order of the Mayor, the City Council adjourned at 5:53 p.m., and reconvened at 7:00 p.m., with all members present to report the following:

STAFF ITEMS:

 

JOINT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION:

 

CIRCULATION ELEMENT DISCUSSION

8-A:     Presentation and discussion of possible goals for the Circulation Element  and alternatives for measuring traffic impacts and goal attainment; and if appropriate, recommendation to provide direction to staff, was presented.

 

Members of the public Joey Fullmer, Dick Orton, Hasan Ikhrata, Randall Rutsch, Will Recher, and Jeffrey Timlin addressed various related issues.

 

Members of the City Council and the Planning Commission held a joint discussion on the issues presented.  No formal action was taken.

 

On order of the Mayor, the information was received and filed.

On order of the Mayor, the City Council meeting was adjourned at 10:42 p.m., in memory of Efren A. Diaz, City employee Terrie Centeno=s father.
