Staff recommends that the City Council adopt
the attached ordinance and proposed resolution setting the fee.
Executive
Summary
At its meeting on May
8, 2007, the City Council introduced for first reading an ordinance amending
Section 8.44.040 and adding Sections 8.44.140 through 8.44.160 to Chapter 8.44 of
the Santa Monica Municipal Code relating to False Fire Alarms. The ordinance is now presented to the City
Council for adoption. The ordinance is accompanied by a resolution which sets
the amount of the false alarm fee at $337.13 and provides for an annual
adjustment.
