Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Katz at 5:57 p.m., on Wednesday,
May 21, 2008, at City Council Chambers,

On order of the Mayor, the
City Council convened at 5:57
p.m. Police Chief, Tim Jackman
led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.
STUDY SESSION:
2008 – 2009 BUDGET STUDY
SESSION
The following members of the
public spoke in support of funding for various projects including addressing
shade for playgrounds and support for the Teen Parent Program with Family
Services of Santa Monica: Judy Abdo, Daniel Jansenson, Erin O’Connor, Jerry
Rubin, Betsy Hileshew, Elena Allen, Shuli Lotan, Ana Medrano.
Mark Gold spoke in support of
funding for the Pier storm drain replacement project and additional staff with
the expertise to manage the project, specifically a Senior Storm Water Manager
and a Senior Storm Water Engineer.
