that a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held at 6:00 P.M. (Pacific
Daylight Time), on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in the Council Chambers, Room 213,
1685 Main Street, Santa Monica and at 8:00 P.M. (Central Daylight Time) at a
teleconference site located at 2720 W. 83rd Street, Chicago, IL 60652, where the Mayor Pro
Tempore will be present and will participate by telephone. The meeting with be for
the purpose of conducting the following business:

of Councilmember McKeown to authorize the Mayor or City Manager to write a
letter to the California Marine Life Protection Act Initiative Blue Ribbon Task
Force in support of the environmentally oriented proposal known as “Map 3,”
establishing Marine Protection Areas along the Southern California coast.
(At the
discretion of Council, Item 13-A may be heard before Closed Session.)
