Business Sponsored Pit Stops in Santa Monica:
Last year there were a total of 6 Pit Stops in Santa Monica, twice as many as there were in 2010. This year the city and its local businesses have surpassed the city’s goal - there are currently 16 Bike to Work Day Pit Stops, possibly the largest participation in the County of Los Angeles. Congratulations to all participating businesses for their support!

DRAFT FINAL Bike Action Plan Released

The DRAFT Santa Monica Bike Action Plan has been released.  This comprehensive document provides both a 5-year implementation plan, as well as a 20-year vision for further integrating bicycles into the fabric of everyday life in Santa Monica.  The document is available for download at http://www01.smgov.net/planning/whats-new/index.html.

NEW Bicycle Racks

Over a hundred bike racks were recently installed on Main Street at various locations where either businesses personally requested them or where the existing racks were heavily used. More racks will be installed along commercial corridors citywide, including Montana Avenue and Downtown. This effort is just another part of making Santa Monica more bike-friendly!

To request a rack at your favorite business, please visit www.smgov.net/go and click “submit a request” at the bottom of the page.
