Woodlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum owned and operated by the City of Santa Monica is pleased to announce that during this holiday season the cemetery is displaying two Trees of Life in the lobby of the mausoleum. The purpose of the trees is to allow individuals and families the opportunity to visit the mausoleum and to hang an ornament on one of the trees in memory of a loved one that has passed away. The cemetery will provide the ornaments which can be personalized. At the end of the holiday season, the two live trees will be planted on the grounds of the cemetery in memory of all persons that passed away during 2006. The holiday season can be a very difficult time for many people who have experienced the death of a loved one. In an effort to make this time a little bit more bearable and offer hope for the future, the Cemetery staff would like to extend an invitation to the community to participate in the Tree of Life program The ornaments will be available beginning Saturday, December 9, 2006 and continue through Sunday, December 31, 2006 during the follow schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until
