DEPOSIT
Per Santa Monica Municipal code 7.12.130 a deposit or a letter of credit from another utility or landlord is required from new customers. A deposit may not be required if you have had a utilities account in good standing with the City within the past twelve months. The deposit for a single family home is $100. Deposits for other customers vary - please contact our office for the amount. You may pay the deposit with cash, check, or credit card. The deposit is returned after one year as a credit on your bill, or refunded if you move before a year's time.
BUSINESS LICENSE
If you are applying for service for a multi-family building over four units or a commercial property, you must have a business license number before applying for utilities service. Information regarding business licenses.
