The Santa Monica Housing and Economic Development
Department (HED) is soliciting proposals from
experienced firms to provide housing waitlist
software and support for it.

Deposit Enrollment
Would you
like to have your monthly Housing Assistance Payment
(HAP) be directly deposited into your bank account
instead of receiving a paper check?
To enroll for this direct deposit program, please
download and complete the
Authorization for Direct Deposit Form and mail
the original, with a voided check attached, to the
address shown on the form.

We encourage all Section 8 Owners/Landlords to sign
up for Direct Deposit!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Complete, print and mail the
Authorization Agreement for Direct Deposit.
Q: Where do I find the federal reserve code and/or
bank code?
A:
You can find it on your check (upper right hand corner
– most checks). Refer to Enrollment Instructions –
How to read your check.
Q: How can I get an email address?
A:
If you don’t have an email address, you can sign up for
any free email service, such as Yahoo mail, Hotmail,
or Gmail.
Q: Will I be receiving a statement in the mail?
A: No, you will be receiving your statement (check stub)
via email. It is important you provide us with a
valid email address.
Q: What if I need to make changes to my bank
account?
A: If you need to make any changes to any of the items on
your Authorization Agreement, you need to contact us
immediately and submit a new form no later than the
10th of the month in order for the
changes to take effect on the 1st of the
following month. Do not contact your financial
institution.
Q: Can I fax or email my filled out Authorization
Agreement for Direct Deposit?
A:
No. You must mail the completed form with your original
signature to: City of Santa Monica – Housing
Authority, ATTN. Direct Deposit, 1901 Main St., 1st
Fl., Ste. A, Santa Monica, CA 90405. You can also
drop the form off in person.
