Get Involved in our
Response to Homelessness |
Santa Monica has a plan and services to
change people's lives for the better. We're working to reduce street
homelessness through outreach, intensive services, housing and collaborations.
Our plan is working, but there is more to do. You can help. Get involved. Here's

Give Responsibly and Effectively
Instead of giving cash handouts
which may help people remain on the street, please...
-
Put your change in the
Dolphin statues located on the 3rd St. Promenade (at Santa Monica), Main
Street (at Ashland), and the Pier. The collected funds go to local homeless
service agencies.
-
Donate
directly to local agencies working to resolve
homelessness. Click here for a list of agencies:
Westside Shelter & Hunger Coalition
(WSHC).
-
It's illegal to leave food or
clothing in public spaces! To donate clothing, contact the
WSHC. If you anticipate having
perishable food to donate, plan ahead with the
Westside Food Bank.
Volunteer
-
Volunteer
your time at a social service agency or indoor meal
service program. Visit the WSHC
website or the City of Santa Monica
volunteer site.
-
Help with the annual point-in-time count.
Volunteers count the number of homeless individuals to track year-to-year
reductions. For more information, e-mail
