This unit oversees the operations of the
Senior Center and
Human Services Grants serving youth, families, seniors
and people with disabilities. This unit also
manages the City's Human Services Grants which fund programs and
services via partnerships with local
non-profit social service organizations in
the areas of domestic violence, legal aid,
and mental health. Staff also supports the
Disabilities Commission,
Commission on
the Status of Women,
Child Care and Early Education Task Force,
Commission for the Senior Community, and
the
Social Services Commission. |

Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL)
(based at Memorial Park, provides
educational and recreation programs and a
drop-in facility for youth ages 6-17),
Virginia Avenue Park,
CREST
(based at Reed Park, provides child care,
homework assistance, enrichment classes,
youth sports, Camp Santa Monica and the
award winning Rosie's Girls program) and
oversees Human Services Grants programs
serving older youth in the Pico
Neighborhood. Staff also supports the Police Activities
League Board and Virginia Avenue Park
