Santa Monica City Net℠ is an initiative by the City to support an environment for local businesses to compete globally by offering cutting edge network solutions. 

The City's fiber network assets extend throughout the downtown area and cover the majority of multiple tenant commercial buildings.  The City of Santa Monica provides access direct to local businesses and also through Internet Service Providers that service Santa Monica.

Dark Fiber Leasing
Santa Monica City Net offers many benefits to the businesses and non-profit organizations of Santa Monica.  As a secure, fast, and cost-effective fiber optic network, Santa Monica City Net provides the opportunity to integrate data, voice, and video, and efficiently manage data exchanges with business partners.

The City offers simple annual leasing options, priced per pair of dark fiber strands.  Lease contracts are subject to annual adjustments for Consumer Price Index increases.  An initial connection charge applies and any construction costs are due at completion.  

Co-Location Facilities
Space is available in one of our data centers located within the City.  Full rack or one unit rack options are available.  All centers feature controlled environments with fire detection and suppression.  Security monitoring for both typical and disaster risks, redundant UPS on AC, on-site diesel generator, and battery backup are accompanied by 24/7 service support.
