Recent events
have taught all of us that we need to keep at least 7 days of supplies on hand
in case of an emergency so we can take care of ourselves and our families until
emergency services are available to assist. The Santa Monica Fire Department has
teamed up with the American Red Cross of Santa Monica encourage the entire
community to “Get 7” and pledge to make Santa Monica the most prepared City in
the country!
IT'S EASY TO PARTICIPATE!
For our 2009 Emergency Preparedness Awareness Campaign, we are asking all City
of Santa Monica employees to have a completed emergency contact card on hand in
case of an emergency. You should have been given an emergency contact card
to fill out and keep. Once you have completed your card, please complete
and submit the on-line pledge form. There will
be prizes for individuals and for the department with the most completed cards.
