Back for its fourth year, "Saturday Afternoons with Los Angeles Opera" is a series of four multi-media talks highlighting the season’s operas and a concert.  The series begins with "The ABCs of Opera: Aida, La Bohème, and Carmen" on February 26.  It continues on March 19 with the second event, Verdi’s Falstaff.  "Behind the Scenes," on April 9, will provide a peek into what it takes to produce an opera.  Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier is featured for the fourth event of the series, to be held on May 14.  A community concert will finish out the series on June 11.

Each event begins at 2:00 p.m. and all ages are welcome at the Santa Monica Community & Cultural Services Senior Center, 1450 Ocean Avenue.  All events are free and open to the public.  Seating is first come, first served.

For more information call 458-8600 or check out our website at www.smpl.org.
