Children of all ages are invited to register for the free Summer Reading Club at any Santa Monica Public Library beginning Monday, June 20.

Children who read independently receive a special T-shirt for 15 hours of reading.  Younger children, who are not able to read yet, can count the time someone spends reading to them and also receive prizes.  Sixth graders and up are invited to join Joust Read, the Library’s Teen Reading Club, and may receive prizes for reading 30 hours or more.

Enhancing the Summer Reading Club are a variety of free activity programs, including puppets, crafts, magic, stories and theatrical programs.  These programs run for approximately 45 minutes and are designed for children ages 4 and up.
