Santa Monica, California – As writers today can readily attest, show business can be murder.  On Thursday, January 24, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., an eclectic quartet of mystery authors whose whodunits are set against the backdrop of the Hollywood dream factory will meet for a panel discussion and book signing at the Santa Monica Public Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

The “Hollywood Homicide” panel will feature: Bill Bryan, author of Keep It Real, a satirically funny mystery on reality television; Rick Copp, author of The Actor’s Guide mystery series and the recent Fingerprints and Facelifts, a comic novel about a middle-aged Charlie’s Angels-esque crime fighting trio brought out of retirement; Harley Jane Kozak, the actress/mystery author, whose latest novel, Dead Ex, takes place on a soap opera set; and Gayle Bartos Pool, the author of Media Justice, a hard-boiled murder mystery involving a box office action hero.

A book signing will follow.

This free public program is open to all ages.  Auditorium seating is limited, and seating is on a first arrival basis.  For more information, contact the Santa Monica Public Library at (310) 458-8600; or visit the Library’s web site at www.smpl.org.
