Santa Monica, California – The Santa Monica Public Library Teen Advisory Council invites people of all ages to experience culture through dance, food, music, spoken word, and art at Culturejam: Around the World in 4 Hours. This cultural celebration will be held on Saturday, April 12 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the North Entry Courtyard and parking lot of the Santa Monica Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.

For the past few months, Santa Monica teens have been working hard to plan a cultural festival that celebrates, educates, and entertains the community. This four-hour “tour” around the world will feature culture-themed booths, storytelling, arts and crafts activities for children, and a performance showcase. Activities include African drum-making, origami, henna, and much more! Performers representing different regions of the world, such as South America, Africa, and the Middle East will educate the audience through music, dance, and spoken word.

The Santa Monica Public Library Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is a leadership group based at the Main Library and is made up of high school students that live or go to school in Santa Monica.  This group helps create and develop interesting and exciting programs for teens at the library.

All ages are invited to attend this cultural celebration. For more information about the presentation, please contact Erica Cuyugan, Young Adult Librarian at (310) 458-8621 during library hours.
