The
City Planning Division will accept Planning Applications by
appointment only.
Appointments are available on Tuesdays
and Thursdays between 9:00 am and 11:00 am
and between 2:00 to 3:00 pm.

In an effort to provide better service to
our customers, the City Planning Division is instituting a new
appointment system for the submittal of planning permit and
Architectural Review Board applications at the public counter. This new
appointment system is intended to shorten the waiting times for
customers at our public counter and allow for a more thorough review by
planning staff of all applications that are submitted for administrative
staff review and review by the Zoning Administrator, Architectural
Review Board, Landmarks Commission, Planning Commission, and City
Council.
City Planning staff will still be available
to review the application requirements with applicants at the public
counter when applications are picked up.
· Appointments
for application submittals may be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays
between 9:00 am and 11:00 am and 2:00 and
3:00 pm.
· Appointments
will be scheduled ½ hour apart to allow sufficient time for planning
staff to thoroughly review the application submittal with the applicant.
· The
application will be reviewed by staff to ensure that all required
information and documentation is included in the submittal and that the
supporting materials, especially visual representations of the project,
are of high quality to enable staff and the decision-makers to review
and analyze the proposed project. The application will be accepted
for filing at the counter if staff determines that all of the information,
documentation and supporting materials are included and ready for
review.
· If
the application and/or supplemental materials are insufficient, the applicant will be required to make
the necessary changes to the application and make another appointment
with the planner who previously reviewed the application.
Application submittal appointments must be
scheduled by calling (310)
458-8341. Scheduled appointments should be made approximately 1 week in
advance. Application submittals will be reviewed at the City Planning
Division public counter, Room 111 of City Hall. Applicants should check
in with the greeter at the Building and Safety public counter (also in
Room 111) who will inform planning staff of your arrival.
