Sustainable City Plan, originally adopted by the City Council
in 1994 and updated in 2003, is a comprehensive, long-range plan for
the community intended to
Conserve and enhance local resources
Safeguard human
health and the environment
Maintain a healthy and diverse economy
Improve livability and quality of life for all community
members in Santa Monica
Because the
Circulation Element will provide a vision to guide
future transportation policies in Santa Monica for the coming
decades, it will ultimately affect the sustainability of our
community. These policies will have implications and affect the
Look, feel and functionality of the
City
Health
of the economy
Activities and interactions
Quality
of life for Santa Monica residents and visitors
The City’s
Planning Commission and Sustainable City Task Force are both working
to ensure that the updated Circulation Element is consistent with
the goals of the Santa Monica
Sustainable City Plan.
