CITY LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE
santa-monica.org

The City of Santa Monica is launching a modern new web site June 1 with a revised organization, multiple navigation schemes, and new graphics. The older site being replaced was launched in 1998 and no longer serves the city's needs
effectively. The city has long been recognized as an innovator in the on-line delivery of municipal information and services. The new site makes it possible to continue in that tradition.

The site features a pleasant and inviting animation showing various city scenes. The primary navigation menu is organized around the type of user who may be using the site, visitors, residents, business people, those familiar with the government structure, or those looking for a particular service.

An effort has been made to provide lots of different ways to navigate the new site. The City of Santa Monica offers more than 20,000 web pages of information and services on-line and serves over one million pages every month. The web content offered covers the full gamut of city services. It is especially challenging to design such a large site so that users are able to quickly and easily find the information or service that they need.

There is plenty of room on the new site to post items of current interest. If you live, work, or go to school in Santa Monica, you should consider using this as a portal site and set your browser home page to santa-monica.org.

Kknowbefore yougologofinal 1now Before You Go is designed to keep you informed and on the move despite local construction activities that affect motorist and pedestrian travel.
